The NFL Blitz Articles

Week 11: Blame Canada

This week: 29 million people watch the Chiefs drop their chance to beat the Eagles, the Broncos win their fourth game in a row, Brandon Staley gets mad, and the Steelers decide to blame Canada for their offensive woes.

Week 10: From Sugar to…

The second German game sees the Colts and Patriots play uninspiring football with Indy narrowly winning, the 49ers are back following a Jags demolition, whilst the Texans and Broncos get surprise victories.

Week 9: In Deutsch Bitte

Die NFL ist in Deutschland! The Chiefs beat the Dolphins in a classic game of two halves, Daniel Jones suffers a gruesome injury that puts his future in doubt, and Seattle’s offence manages to be bad in new and exciting ways.

Week 8: Three Falling

This week in the NFL: the 49ers continue to plummet by losing to a resurgent Bengals, the Chiefs manage to lose to the Broncos, and Josh McDaniels is the first sacking of the season.

Week 7: Play Fighting

Week 7 of the season saw lots of games that didn’t go as expected: the Buffalo Bills lost to the Patriots, the 49ers lost to the Vikings, the Lions were demolished by the Ravens, and Tyson Bagent becomes a national star.

Week 6: The Moody Blues

Week 6 was probably the worst week of the season so far. The 49ers and Eagles lost in upsets, the Giants had a controversial call cost them against the Bills, and the final London game made me miss Darren Fletcher.

Week 5: That’s a Stat Line Boys

Week 5 saw the 49ers dominate the Cowboys, the Jaguars get a very impressive win over the Buffalo Bills, continued questions around Bill Belichick, and the Steelers and Ravens play perfect Sickos Committee football.

Week 4: Andy’s Room

Week 4 of the NFL season saw the Bills demolish the Dolphins, the Bears demolish themselves, the Giants demolish their fans, and the first international game which was also held in Andy’s room.

Week 3: Swifties

Week 3 of the NFL season saw one of the most historic beatings of all time, continued Chicago chaos, a fed up Hall of Famer, and a surprise win for the Arizona Cardinals.

Week 1: No Asterisk

The NFL season kicks off with a emphatic Lions win (no asterisk attached), a back-to-strength Brock Purdy, a fantastic Tua performance, and devastating news for the Jets.

Final Preseason Predictions 2023

The NFL returns tonight with the same level of excitement as every year, meaning it’s time to predict the league with the same level of inaccuracy as every year.

Final Preseason Predictions 2022

The NFL gets underway tonight with the Bills and Rams, to mark the start of the season, it’s time for more predictions that will age absolutely appallingly.

The Best Day One Picks – NFL Draft 2022

The first night of the NFL Draft brought the first 32 picks: the Jets made three incredible picks, the Ravens and Titans traded wide receivers, and the Steelers took the only QB of the night.

Mock Draft 2022

Las Vegas finally gets its chance to host the NFL Draft, as all 32 teams get to hope and dream of future success. I incorrectly predict how the first round will go

A Wild NFL Week

If wild and surprising stories are something you enjoy, the NFL has really been the place to be over the last week.

NFL 2021 Review

The Los Angeles Rams won their second Super Bowl in a season that was packed with everything we come to expect from the NFL.

Power Rankings – Week 16, 2021

The Christmas weekend of NFL football was kinder to some teams than it was to others, but it sets up a great finish to the season as we approach 2022.

Power Rankings – Week 15, 2021

Week 15 was as wildly unpredictable as many of the other weeks this season, and it was one that saw an old favourite top the rankings for the first time in 358 days.

Urban Meyer was a Disaster

Urban Meyer’s stint with the Jacksonville Jaguars was a disaster for all involved, and it makes Meyer the worst head coach the NFL has ever seen.

The Steelers and Discipline

The standard is the standard for the Steelers, but does the Vikings game show that the bar is too low when it comes to team discipline?

On Super Teams

The Rams were bad against the Packers, Troy Aikman called out LA’s super team methodology as a result, but was he right to do so?

Power Rankings – Week 12, 2021

Week 12 of the NFL season saw the league return to relative calm, the Patriots are back to normal, good teams are beating bad teams and the Lions still suck.

The Leon Lett Game

To celebrate Thanksgiving, I look back at one of the most memorable games to happen on the day, 1993’s Miami Dolphins @ Dallas Cowboys, and why the ending is so notable.

Power Rankings – Week 11, 2021

Week 11 continued the NFL’s recent trend of trying to be as weird as possible, though it did return one side to the number one spot that they have owned recently.

Power Rankings – Week 10, 2021

Week 10 of the NFL season saw most of the top ten from last week forget how to football. It might have been the weirdest week of the season, making the rankings hard to sort.

Power Rankings – Week 9, 2021

We’re now halfway through the NFL season, one team has established themselves in first, one team still hasn’t won and one team’s Josh Allen dominated another team’s.

Power Rankings – Week 7, 2021

Week 7 wasn’t the best week of NFL football we’ve ever had, but the Cardinals continued to impress and the Lions did way better than an 0-7 record would suggest.

Power Rankings – Week 6, 2021

Week 6 of the 2021 NFL season sees a side fight through a lot of adversity to retake their place at the top of the Power Rankings, whilst an unsurprising side go last for the first time.
